Mozilla on June 17, 2008 made an attempt to set a World Record for most downloaded Software in a period of 24 Hours by releasing Firefox 3. This is not yet been officially announced by Guiness Book of World records if Mozilla is Successfull in its attempt. Well here homes the interesting question, Which Operating System among the three most popular Operating System triggered the maximum number of downloads? Here is the figure that was made available from a Mozilla Spokesperson: * Windows 79% * Linux 13% * OS X 8% That might be a good news for Bill Gates towards his last few days with Microsoft Corporation. Thats again is not a big surprise as the major market share in Home and Office computing is dominated by Windows Operating System only. Based on a statistics provided by w3counter OS X accounts for 4.95% of the operating systems in use while Linux is barely half of this at 2.01% but look at the download statistics above. OS X comes in position 3 which leaves some strange questions in our minds like Apple users only like to use Apple apps? Or did a large group of Mac users not get invited to the download party?
