Listening to news channels what I have noticed that crimes like robbery, chain snatching, eve teasing etc are increasing the city, for example few days back many jewelers shop was looted in day light and city police is still not able to find the gang who is doing these activities. Talking of smaller thieves who are looking for people like us can sometime do more harm, a year before two aged couples in our colony were jogging early morning when two unidentified people came on motorcycle and snatched the gold chain and this was not enough, when one of them shouted for help they shot them and fled away from the spot. From this incident what we learn that one must go for jogging in morning but with a bigger group and women must equip them with some safety device like taser , pepper spray etc. These devices have been found of great use. Taser is a type of gun (looks like a gun) but instead of bullet, it release large discharge to current to give high voltage electric shock which is not fatal but enough to teach a good lesson to thief for life. You don’t need a gun license to but taser but since it’s not a toy, you need to be 18 years or older. It is powered by AA size pencil batteries which are easily available everywhere at very low cost. However crime prevention is the duty of government and city police but still one must keep himself ready for any situation, especially in case of personal security its not always required to keep body guards unless you are a millionaire but normal people can take some small measures like using common sense and carry safety devices. By common sense I mean being practical and not to show off, as there is absolutely no need of wearing expensive jewelry while activities like jogging or going places like office and gym. Traveling with unknown person and especially going to places where you have never gone before is a strict no. Collage going girls and children’s are mostly targeted, so they must be left alone to go anywhere.
