And this “personal problem” of mine has come to a point that I almost don’t play them anymore because of it. It’s more or less an “obsession” that I’ve developed over time, and it’s all about playing games in an “optimal” manner. You see, one of the symptoms of it is that I find myself continuously saving the game’s state, and figthing some particular opponents over and over; all to the point that during the particular “battle”, I don’t lose any “energy” or “shield” (and stuff), and then to next opponent and so on …

This has all started to become so serious when I was playing Warcraft III (The Frozen Throne) game, and for instance, I knew that to get to te next level, I need as much resources in general spared (especially “human resources”, lol), and in the end, I was so “fanatical” about it, that I was devotedly moving workers around to areas where there was still enough trees for lumber, so that they wouldn’t just stand there doing nothing. Oh, and if in the current game there were too many of them doing nothing for too long, I just started it from the beginning to make it through more “optimally”. And there are many other similar examples of symptoms of this obsession.

Or similarly in case of “1st person shooter” games (for example in a case of one of Star Trek variants that I was playing back then for some time), I knew that to get to the next level or to beat the last “boss” in the game, I need as much as “energy” or “shielding” spared, as much as “medic packs” and such stuff as possible gathered (and not yet used), however, of course, one of the points of playing games is to discover as much area/secrets as possible, but anyway. And there are many other similar examples of symptoms of this obsession.

Does anyone have any similar experiences ??!
