Writers write. Whether they get paid or not writing is a way of life for many people these days. Creative writing is great, you can enjoy the moment be anyone you like and do anything you want to do on that computer screen or sheet of paper. That’s not to neglect the fact that all writing is creative to some degree, even freelance writing that involves producing web content.

Getting paid for writing is great - especially to begin with. The problem with getting paid, and especially being paid as a freelancer is that awful word, deadline. If you don’t get your copy in on time then you may not get another job from that client. Unfortunately sometimes writing mindless web content can stifle the creative aspect of writing.

In my case too much concentration on deadlines has lead to a kind of stagnancy. I have neglected my blogs and my novel for the almighty dollar and it has affected my writing. So I am going to try and put a limit on this writing to deadline and go back to enjoying my writing.
