The final contest of the American Idol is just a few days away, and the contest between the two Davids - Archuleta and Cook will be hotly fought.

David Archuleta, 17 years old, has won the hearts of many viewers, young and old. His mature voice, always filled with passion and purity and sincerity is a rare thing. His humility at all times and his freshness are most appealing qualities.

Who can forget his rendition of Imagine, a truly remarkable performance.

David Cook, 25, presents a contrasting style. Older, brasher, he has taken more risks, and come through. He has, it seems, more versatility. He has more “attitude” than Archuleta. For the show, that make not work in his favour.

Archuleta wins on lovability and charm. Together with his overall consistency, these qualities may see him through to the end.

I think Archuleta has a slight edge over Cook.
