Sherrybaby is a film made in 2006, and stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, a Golden Globes Awards nominee. It’s the story of a woman released from prison for a drugs offence, readjusting to a normal life and trying to reconnect with her young daughter.

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s performance in the lead role of Sherry Swanson has been touted as a tour-de-force and perhaps the best performance in her career.

The daughter is played by 9 year-old Ryan Simpkins who also gives a powerful performance.
