The cell phones ban in New York City Schools has come under challenge by a group of parents and a hearing is being held to decide the issue.

The rule was implemented in 2006, and ban students from bringing their cell phones into schools. They have to be surrendered at the door. It’s easy to see why students don’t like this idea.

Parents also feel that their kids should have them, in case of emergencies.

This started off with the introduction of metal detectors in schools in an attempt to reduce crime. Cell phones were often confiscated as a result. So the City decided to ban them altogether.

This has caused an uproar among the students and their parents. Students have resorted to having their phones stored outside school.

The City argues that the use of cell phones has created too much disruption in class.
