Some of the TLD that are available for registering may look snazzy - but beware, some (in fact all) come with fees. OK - .25$ there .30$ here is fine - its the registries that like to charge $100 fees for setting up your domain for you.
Admittedly, this can sometimes be shown as the price for the domain, but I have seen sites which advertie as $8.95pa + fees. A good advertising ploy, but sure to turn visitors off once they see actually how much they will be paying.
This normally (thankfully!) only happens at NICs for specific countries (ie country specific domain names), namely African and West Indian nations.
Beware - dont be click happy and land yourself a $100 bill!!
