Click here to read a short blurb I wrote, linking to an article that lays it all out a bit better then myself. Also included on the bottom of the blurb, which is why I’m linking it, is a conversation that goes through which kind of carbs I’m talking about.
This doesn’t mean that simple carbs aren’t still something you should limit. Anything that’s bleached, or has added sugar should be limited or avoided. But, complex carbohydrates are very good for you, help you to maintain a healthy blood sugar, keep you fuller (which can drastically reduce your caloric intake), and keep your health functioning properly.
Basically, don’t go full Atkins. It’s unhealthy to completely cut out carbohydrates, leading to multiple potential health concerns. You’ll also be consuming more fat and calories, even if your body is momentarily losing weight (which you’d likely gain right back, with this drastic a diet regimen). Your blood sugar also takes the chance of unhealthily crashing, while your blood pressure could potentially unhealthily rise.
The idea is to eat healthier, reach your goal weight in a quick, but healthy amount of time, and keep that weight off so you don’t ever have to “sweat” it again.
