Yes, Advertising need money. Either you advertised on electronic media or not. It doesn’t matter much. The only thing that matter is the cost incurred when placing your ads for advertisement.
Everyone know that the more people know about your product or services, the more you will get the traffic either to your website or you brick and mortar store.
So why pay more to advertised your product or services via television or billboard when you can pay a slightly small amount of money advertising via digital medium. The best part promoting your product or services via Internet is about global exposures.
What is the cost incurred advertising on the Internet? The lowest will be cost around $0.04 per click on the link that bring the client to your websites. So if you promoted your product or services via the Internet, the cost is much much more cheaper.

So if your product (digital based product) cost about USD$7.99 per sales, you should prepared some advertisement cost per one (1) sales ia at least around USD$1.20. This means that your profits margin is around USD$5.79 or at least around USD$5 per sales.
Still this is much more cheaper to sell your product or services. So for me, I personally used Google Adword to promote all my digital product (e-book or software) and at the same time used Clickbank, PayDotCom and Commission Junction to promote.
I set my own product margin around USD$5.00 per sales and now I’ve generated more than USD$200++ sales (after margin calculation) per day without missed for about 1 year plus. So if I can make that kind of money, for sure you can also make the same without much efforts.
