Morning After Pill to Become Over-the-Counter

Morning after pill

It appears the Morning After Pill contraceptive is about to become the newest over-the-counter drug. This drug is sometimes called the emergency contraceptive. It is a birth control pill that can be taken up 72 hours after having unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy.

I am sure there is a wide variety of opinions on this, but this is how I see it. I think this is a good thing. Being pregnant and not wanting to have a child is not a good thing for the mother or the child. The Morning After Pill will make much easier to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, especially in the case of rape, failed birth control or unplanned sex when the person has been drinking.

However, I also wonder how many people will actually use the Morning After Pill anyway. It seems that people that are careless about birth control may not even take the time to go get the Morning After Pill. It just seems to me like it might be easier to worry about preventing pregnancy before you have sex

I don’t have this *direct*

I don’t have this *direct* problem as I’m a guy (still problems are of another level) but yes, this is good that this pill is to be available without prescription because it is not 100% efficient and the efficienty reduces very quickly depending on how many hours after the sex act you take it.
