Now that my site is up and running I have decided to go back and learn about link popularity and how to obtain good search engine ratings for my site. In doing so, I have come to realize that understanding link popularity should have been a prerequisite to building my site.

I decided to check the link popularity to all my sites in order to get a better understanding. In doing so, I found that my main site has 523 links, however a very new forum that I have put together http://workathome.madmooseforum.com/ only has 100 links, however the Popularity ratings on both sites are the same.

In researching I have come to learn that the quantity of links your sight has, is much less important then the quality of those links. For example, I found that links to my site, that were related to my keywords were of more value, then links exchanged with other sites, that are not related.

Along with all this new insight I am sure that I will have to go back and restructure alot of things, as I learn valuable information on link popularity.
