Why blogspot is superior to wordpress?

I am of the opinion that blogspot is superior to wordpress blogging platform. I anticipate quite a few feedbacks backing WP and I have my reasons.

* WP releases constant upgrades to its version. For techno novices like me, upgrading WP is a big problem.

* It is very easy to modify the source code HTML in blogspot based blogs.

* Adding a new page element is easier than doing so in WP.

* Even inserting AdSense codes is easier in blogspot when compared to WP.

* There is never a requirement to upgrade blogspot. Man, what a relief it is!

* Getting answers to doubts regarding blogspot is also very easy as there are more places for that.

I agree with you guys, that for newbies, planning to make some money on blogging, it is the best platform. I am using it myslef. However, there are some limitations and features (like missing categories, or inability to attach files) that make me think one day to leave blogger. Not now, not ready yet…

Perhaps you could make the transition between blogger/blogspot and your own install by setting up and using googlepages account. It allows you more freedom in the building of your site (and attach files) while still being a self-hosted solution and keeping a very WYSIWYG interface.

But in general, you can always keep your old blogger and googlepages accounts whenever you’ll create your on install, because they can be useful to create backlinks to your new sites, to help them get noticed quickly.
