The world's first steam passenger railway.

Day dreaming is a useful way for time pass and I am no exception to this habit. Spiritual masters say that you develop your imagination by day dreaming. Yes, it is true in my case at least.

My favorite place in my day dream is hills. I used to gather paper clippings of hill stations and the last one was about ‘The Pennines’. The Pennines are a mountain range in England and they are considered as the backbone of England.

To see this mountain range, one has to choose Manchester as the base station. From the hundreds of Manchester Hotels, select the one that is known to provide more value for your money. I would recommend Britannia Hotels, the largest privately owned hotel chain in the UK. In fact, it was recommended to me by my doctor friend who stayed there once.

My friend went there to attend a conference. He flew to London first. Fortunately for him, he didn’t have to find his way to London as he was received well and taken straight to a 5 star accommodation in London. He was able to do some shopping there and then he was driven to Manchester in a luxury car.

After the conference, he was let free to roam around Manchester. He first went to the railway station which is incidentally the world’s first passenger railway station. He then took a guided tour of the Pennines. They form an unbroken range stretching from the Peak District in the Midlands, through the Yorkshire Dales, parts of Greater Manchester, the West Pennine Moors of Lancashire and Cumbrian Fells to the Cheviot Hills on the Scottish border. Their total length is about 250 miles (402 km).

On his return back to London, he stayed for three days. This time he chose a budget London accommodation because he wanted to save money for shopping.

He gave me several photographs of the Pennines.
