Beyond Guilt and Worry

Guilt and worry are useless, harmful and destructive emotions in life. There were few times that I have done something awful and it was my mistake and I really felt very guilty of it. Guilt keeps you immobilized in the present because of what has been done in the past. Worry, on the other hand, ties you down from doing something in the present for fear of what may happen in the future. It isn’t the experience of today that drives men mad. It is the remorse for something that happened yesterday, and the fear of what tomorrow may reveal. Start viewing the past as something that can never be changed. Your guilt feelings will not change what has happened and it will not make you a better person. Accept certain things about yourself, despite what your peers, friends, or superiors feel about them. The approval of others regarding you actions is pleasant, but it is essential that you approve of yourself first.
