So. I never thought I would do this, but I’m actually writing a blog entry for the very recent introduction of the iPhone. Steve says it’s mindblowing, and the media prizes it as THE thing that will change the mobile industry forever. I’m kind of skeptical with the last one, but in case it turns out to be true, I want to leave a little piece of (future) history in my blog.
It’s a regular day for me, over here in Panama. $600 for a phone well, it’s quite a lot. I would like to hold and test one, though. It looks so slick. But I sure wouldn’t buy it, I can’t afford it. Well, I can (if I deplete my savings), but I don’t feel it’s worth it. At all. My iPod does just fine, and I’m waiting on a rumored Nokia handset (yeah, I know, GEEK).
One thing we must be sure is that the iPhone is going to bring out every manufacturer’s best game. Now that they have a new, different competitor, Nokia et al will surely up their offering on premium phones (what I would give for an N95!).
Well, I’m no insider (nor a US resident…), so if you haven’t got enough of the iPhone hype, gossip, rumor, and/or news already, head on to www.engadget.com and check out their galleries and posts, they’re pretty good.
Hasta la vista,
Just-me.
