Now that you have figured out what you want, and picked a day to go to the lot. What next.?
First: Wash Your Car. I can’t begin to tell you how many cars I have seen drive on the lot full of trash, covered with mud, or just in general not ready to be appraised.
If you are ready to look for a car, you should be ready to buy that day. More than a few times I have had a person find the ideal car for them, only to decide to get it tomorrow. Then later that same day someone else finds the same dream car, and takes it home.
The next day the first person shows up ready to buy and oops no car.
Be prepared to do business, have a recent pay stub, insurance information, a current phone bill with your name and address on it. If you find what you want, be ready to take it off the lot, or at lease place a deposit to hold the car till tomorrow when you can take it.
