Autos & Vehicles

Children: Children should
be seen and not heard. In fact, children should not be taken with you as
you shop and negotiate. Salesmen are trained to love and win
over to their side the easily influenced minds of your little angels. When
the salesman succeeds at this he has a better-than-average chance of
selling mom and dad, simply because of the tremendous influence children
have on their parents. Parental. When son or daughter
decides to take that first big step toward independence and buy a car,
problems inevitably develop. Mom and dad become overprotective,
overcautious, and overbearing and want to run the show.
However, most young adults know more than their parents about the
merchandise and really need only financing and/or contract advice and
help. Good advice to parents is this. If your child likes the car, wants
the car, and can afford the car, and the car checks out on the inspection
and demo ride, let him have the car. It might not be the car
you would buy, but it is the car he wants. ** Tip: Do
not underestimate the intelligence of your child when it comes to such
worldly matters as the purchase of an automobile. If you don’t know what
you are talking about, keep your mouth shut.
You can ask questions, but you need
not display your vast knowledge. Your child knows you are smart, and
the salesman couldn’t care less.
