I am so sick of seeing the political ads for the governorship of Florida. 4 candidates eager to tell tales on the other. Now we are down to 2, yet the finger pointing still continues. Add to it the fact the president of the US is coming to a $500 per plate dinner to endorse the republican candidate………does he really need that much support to call on our present governor’s brother? Can’t he do it on his own? The sad thing is that because of this, he will most likely be our next governor. No matter how I vote.
I hate the political corruption, the lies, the deceitful policies. I feel that as a government for the people, they should concentrate on jobs, schools, homeless, and health…nothing else. Make our workforce more stable, our schools a better education system, healthcare affordable for everyone, and the same with housing. The better the economy the better the constituents like whoever is in office……….you can screw whoever you want as long as I get paid, can feed my family, have a decent place to live, and my kid can read.
But politics has been and always will be a money game. Find me a politician who got into it (and is still in it) for the people, to make changes for the better in the working man’s life, to strenghthen the communities, raise the quality of life for the middleclass. You won’t find one anymore. At least not a live one or one that hasn’t had every piece of dirt in his closet turned out before the public’s eye. We all do stupid things, but unless he raped my grandmother, murdered my kid, or kicked my dog (I really like that dog) I don’t care about his past, if he will do what he says he’s going to. Let the man do his job in piece, if it gets done right. Do you go into McDonald’s and tell them how to make their fries and Big Mac? So why would we tell someone else how to work?
I’ll tell you why……….BECAUSE WE PAY THEM……….our tax dollars at work everyday, in a political office that can’t so much as show up to vote on our budgets or taxes or school issues….
My point is, sometimes I wish we could just go back to the simple ways of life……..we are outsmarting ourselves.
Tired of the Same Old Thing
