I was very glad to log on this morning and see this site up and running again………way to go James. But weird stuff is happening on the net.
I tried to do some updates on my site yesterday. Things were going great, then all of a sudden my front page got taken over………by what, I am not sure…..the screen showed a page that said “thankyou for downloading” this particular program. It then went on to ask for ftp information, database info, and password to finish installation.
First of all, I didn’t download anything. And I ain’t givin up that info for nuthin! So I called my hosting company. Somehow a file got added to my file manager. No-one knows how. So we deleted it and everything went back to normal….but the tech support said I need to change my password every week or so for a while. Cause someone probably hacked it and was started to do bad things to my site……
Stupid cause I have no private info on my site. It’s new so how much content can it have? And no one has logged into the forum yet (shouldn’t say that huh?) so there isn’t any private info there……….and I don’t take credit card payments or anything like that……so I have to assume that is was some dumba@%@ just being stupid……but I caught it cause I was working on my site when it happened.
Thought you should know. Oh yeah, it was set up as a blog file on my index file. And since my blog files are in a separate folder, plus have been up and running for at least two weeks, tech support said this was a file transfer and not just some gliche………oh well, it’s fixed and no problems.
cant keep a good man down!!

I have read your recent posts and was just wondering? Is this a way of passing the headache to someone else? I sure hope not. I for one, feel this is a pretty neat community you have going on here. Besides, where else can I ask stupid questions and actually get a response.
Just know that you are doing a good job and I have learned much from your forum. Earned a little, too!

Which blogs?
If you’re talking about the adsensemadeeasy, it was a blog I have written some time ago, I just found it in MSN Search’s cache so I repost it.
From time to time I try to get back some content, but when I remember how much there was, in particular in the books, and now nothing, that’s a pity and I need courage in order to write it again, it’s even harder when I know the site is not secured.
If everything has been going OK for 2 days it’s simply because the hacker wants to play with my nerves, but he will act again that’s for sure, I’ve changed passwords but I don’t know from where it struck.
Anyway, this afternoon I’ve been busy with the script for automatic translation, at the top of the page, try it it works really well now. Except for pages that you can only see yourself as a loggued in member, otherwise all the rest is working, I was able to add a cache system too so that the web server doesn’t have too much of a hard time when foreign search engines will index those translated pages.
Cheers,
James

Sure you can!
Oh yes you can, I tell you I’m about to give up Senserely and transform it in another site, much more simple and not as appealing of course, which would not rely on Drupal.org and plugins I didn’t code myself but on my own php pages and so would not have the same problems with hackers.
The site is under attack since wenesday 16th august, what a stressful week, come on I don’t like stress I’m not going to live with it!
So we can only wait and see, but I don’t see myself having the site breaking down every day for one month, NO WAY!
