Minalyzer Lite Site Search

| | | |

Hello Senserely’s members today I’m going to review a product which I’m sure will interest very much… Saurabh Dani released this new product called Minalyzer Lite Site Search which is basically a command line wrapper on top of Java Lucene, the best Open Source Search API available as of today.

Why is Minalyzer Lite Site Search so important to the developpers community? Well because not every web server has Java server running, so a wrapper can be needed for a specific project. This product also hide all the Java Lucene API level details, so you can focus on more important tasks.

Minalyzer Lite can index the source data from web server by crawling it, or by directly indexing the HTML files from the file system or directly from the database for database driven web sites.

In fact the indexing code is a simple command line exec and so is the search utility, which returns XML which can then be parsed and displayed on any web site using any server side script which supports calling external programs.

Anyway, if you’re about to create your own search engine, you should have a look at how Minalyzer Lite Search works and see if you’re interested:
