Download Google Chrome

I’ve just downloaded and installed Google Chrome beta which is the first web browser from Google. It’s an open source browser just like Mozilla Firefox, but the difference is that each tab is a separate application, which means there will be no more browser freezing because of one bug in one of the opened tabs, with Google Chrome, only the tab in which the buggy page is loaded will be frozen, the rest of the tabs will still be active and running, good.
Also the layout of the browser is such that the interface is quite invisible, for instance there is no windows title bar or status bar, so it saves about 32 pixels in height compared to other browsers when not in full view.

I haven’t much impressions because I just use chrome a little for tests.. As long as chrome won’t have plug ins, I’m never going to quit using firefox with the so useful plugins such as gmail manager for multiple gmail accounts or several other plugins I use.

chrome is just cool and makes a change when you don’t expect it but at the moment there’s no question of switching to using it more than firefox :-)

I made some tests and yes it’s way faster for opening web pages and executing javascript when there’s lot of calculation, so a few seconds saved here and there make a lot at the end of the week.

I’m waiting for more progress, plugins and a 1.0 release before even considering switching :-)
