She Told Me

Please let me introduce you to ContextWeb, an ad-supported property reaching more than 54 million unique visitors monthly with 350 advertisers and 1000 publishers. ComScore Media Metrix ranked ContextWeb 27th largest ad-supported property in march 2007.

The company, founded in 2000, has real-time page-level technology known as ContextAd which delivers ads much like Google AdSense do, meaning very well targeted ads, most of the time. :-)

What is new about that company is that on May 1, 2007 it announced that it will open the first true online advertising exchange: ADSDAQ ( http://www.adsdaq.com )

Unfortunately this exchange is not for us poor little AdSense Publishers, because the requirements are that you must be a comScore 250 site or have a site generating in excess of 10 million monthly impressions in order to be considered for ContextWeb’s Open PO program. ADSDAQ provides pricing control and the ability to set a firm “Bid” or “Ask” price to all traders (publishers and advertisers).

To explain it better, imagine if you could log in your AdSense admin and say: for this site of mine, I don’t want any ad earning me less than 0.5$
So if for your page there’s no ad at your asking price or more, you will instead display alternative ads of yours or another ad network, wouldn’t that be cool?
