Hi, here’s what I just received in my mailbox, a word of Flixya (I’m registered but never participated) it seems everyone has had problems, senserely, writingup, flixya and who knows who else… Bah, in the end we’re all still up and running :-)

Flixya has re-launched with a new look and a long list of new features, including videos, photos and blogs..
In addition to improved features, Flixya now offers members an opportunity to make friends, earn 100% ad revenue, network and more.
Introduction to Flixya V2

— Media enabled blogging software that allows for customization of HTML and the ability to add video, photo and Google search results.
— Unlimited image hosting for inserting images into Craigslist, Ebay or online classified listings.
— Improved search engine and search results.
— Help Center - A growing resource for finding answers quickly.

Growing Pains
In July 2006, we started Flixya as a simple, video sharing web site. Today, it has grown into a thriving online community.
We soon realized the platform that supported the site, presented a lot of challenges. We were very restricted in creating a stable and scalable platform and limited in introducing new features.
Flixya V1 was a strong proof of concept and we pushed it to it’s limits. Outside of any technical issues, we felt we could make significant improvements.
We wanted to work with an experienced development team who could add a level of expertise to the project that we knew would enable us to create a web site that was scalable, stable and the ability to add additional features.
Fast forward 6 months: The day we started the initial migration of the database from the old site to the new site, disaster struck. We encountered a technical issue and over a period of 8 days, we were at risk of losing everything. We did everything possible to save the project. However, the development site was lost and has yet to be recovered. :(
With some unexpected luck, we were able to salvage a small part of the latest version of Flixya. However, in the process, we had to make the decision between stopping the project or moving forward.
Not a team to back down from a challenge, we made the decision to not “pull the plug” and to continue to deliver Flixya V2. In what can only be described as a “Herculean” effort and long hours behind the scenes, the latest version of Flixya has arrived.
If you are one of the members of Flixya who has encountered problems during this transition, please accept our apologies. Each member is important to us and we will work on a case-by-case basis to try and find a resolution.
A Work in Progress:
Traffic: The original Flixya had one major strength. It performed well in search engines and was an SEO marvel. We had amazing results. We will continue to work on optimizing Flixya V2, but similar to the launch of any new web site, we know that traffic will be lower than the previous version — and the decrease in traffic is temporary. In addition to the fixes that are at the top of our fix it list, keep an eye out for addtional features.
Flixya publisher(Firefox extension)
This currently does not work with the new site.
Existing Bookmarks and Url’s:
We are working on a work around to redirect existing url’s from V1
Sub domains- (member.flixya.com)
The sub domains such as username.flixya.com — should be fixed shortly.
Rewards Program
Unfortunately, we ended the rewards program 4 months ago due to a few over zealous members who were abusing the system and using bots to post videos. However, with the increase of earnings to 100% revenue, we feel it puts the ball in your court — to contribute quality content which translates to higher earning potential and a better overall user experience for everyone.
The good news is that we are back online, with a new platform that offers an extensive list of improvements and an opportunity to earn revenue from videos, photos and blog’s. It has always been our intention to offer 100% revenue with Flixya V2, and we hope the changes are well received.
How can you help?
Flixya has grown through word of mouth and Flixya V2 has new built in tools to help you network and invite your friends.
Over the next few weeks, we will be making a few important announcements, but without your help, we cannot do this alone. Of course, no one enjoys spam, but a little common sense and sending a few invitations to your friends — is a great way to help grow your network and introduce Flixya to a new audience.
