From few days ago Google has it’s own browser called Google Chrome. Philosophy behind and more detailed reasons for development you can read in this interesting comic.
There’s a lot of browsers in the market today but what are the Google Chrome innovations and where is the Google Chrome different?
It has tabs as each modern browser, but news is that each tab is separated as separate proces in its own virtual sandbox which means that the stability is on a higher level than in other browsers and also security.
It has new JavaScript engine, developed by Google and it is called V8. What’s the difference between standard JavaScript engine and V8? V8 engine changes JavaScript code directly to system code, so there’s no transfer into browser specific code and scripts runs faster and smoothly.
For rendering HTML code, Chrome uses Webkit HTML engine which is very fast and is used by Apple’s Safari browser, too.
The biggest deficiency in this moment is that Google Chrome runs only at Microsoft’s OS but Google gives promises that versions for Linux and OS X will be available soon.
