English funeral parlours could soon start utilising the heat of crematoria to keep mourners warm, it was reported recently.

A council in Greater Manchester has come up with a novel idea to make funerals more environmentally friendly. Crematorium gases are usually wastefully emitted into the atmosphere, instead of heating radiators.

“We are conscious it might be a sensitive matter,” a Thameside Council environmental officer said.”But in this day and age we all have to look at reducing our carbon footprint.”
