Hi there, I’m the
Hi there, I’m the webmaster of Senserely so I will give you some information from my point of view, other members own experiences may differ:
the site is 1 year and a half old, has been hacked once in august 2006 and lost all content. Traffic is SLOWLY building up, but it’s nothing like what I imagined when I created the site, it’s very low, a few hundreds unique visitors a day!!
The sense of community is under developped, participation in commenting is not encouraged although it sometimes happens from brave members. I have only recently introduced a badly designed forum as a mean to support any specific discussion between members in case we’d need it, but we don’t.
What else? Oh yes the very bad design, the ugly colors and all, but this you know already. The fact that you have no formatting tools when publishing a blog entry, isn’t that nice? Pure text, just like what AdSense likes :-)
Moneywise I can say senserely is a failure, but it’s due to traffic which isn’t great. I only get about 15 to 20% of the total adsense displays but still it isn’t great, I don’t complain but it is not great. Maybe some members got more than I do, I don’t know, because their blog entries are read frequently (they get 80% on those pages) have many affiliates (they get 10% of the displays of their affiliates) and maybe have a lot of points so get displays from general pages of the site too.
Oh yes, last point is the CTR which isn’t anything to brag about, the way the adsense are setup now are better than before but the CTR only rarely exceeds 5%, on my personal sites I can get above 10% constantly. I think this is due to the fact that a lot of the traffic comes from web savvy users, like fellow adsense publishers who simply don’t click as often as the general web user.
OK, now if there’s another member who wish to participate to this thread, don’t hesitate no more :-)
Cheers,
James
