Becoming the biggest loser, is not all bad! In fact it is great, when it comes to weight loss. Losing weight can be one of the hardest things to do. If it was easy, there would not be so many ads, diets and pills out there.
But battling your weight, doesn’t have to be a uphill battle. The biggest ingredient in a weight loss program is patience. We all want everything “yesterday” and with losing weight, this can be dangerous. You are less likely to keep the weight off, and who really wants to spend the rest of their lives on a 800 calorie diet? It may work at first, but to be able to sustain it, is another story.
You didn’t put the weight on overnight, so why do we expect to lose the pounds that quick?
Make a few changes to your day, mix things up a bit, and make the changes gradual. Did you know it takes 21 days to create a habit, and the same to get rid of one? If you have certain eating habits, it may be hard to get rid of them, so why not change them a bit? Get used to the new habit for 21 days, and keep going. This will be your new habit, then find something else to change.
Here are a couple of great tips that helped me lose the weight (I have little to no will power, but managed this)
Take a day on the weekend and create your dinners or lunches for the week. If dinner is your weakness, such as takeouts on the way home, or grabbing something before going to a game or night out. Then pick that meal to replace with these delicious meals you are going to make ahead of time.
Invest in some foil dinner containers that you can pop in the oven, or microwave proof ones. Make healthy dinners that you can freeze. Make sure you have a good lean protein, a healthy carb and some vegetables. Or purchase those salad bags that are already made so there is no excuse. This way you can heat up your dinner and not worry about what you are going to eat and making bad choices.
This alone saved me HUGE calories. It felt good to come home and heat up a dinner that was already prepared, so I was not likely to snack while making it. Eating out, especially when it is in a hurry, such as fast food restaurants, can totally sabotage your calorie intake for the day. You can end up eating huge calories and fat and not realize it. Save eating out for relaxing times, when you can take the time and make good choices.
Take a walk after dinner. This stimulates your metabolism and helps you stay away from late night snacking. It also clears your thoughts and readies you for a good night sleep.
These two tips helped me become the biggest loser! biggest loser
