My Lazy Way to Lose Weight... it really works!

Losing weight, to me, conjures up images of food diaries, calorie counters, or pedometers to measure every step you take.

I was not ready for that, and finally one day, came up with my very own lazy way to lose weight.

It is very simple, and it worked for me, and depending on your schedule or routines, it should work for you.

Pick your most routine days, for me that was Monday to Friday, when my eating habits were very similar. (The weekend is a whole other issue!) For the next week, take a mental picture of the size of the servings you are taking. For example, I always had a slice of whole wheat toast for breakfast with a gob of peanut butter. I sort of examined that gob and then put it in a tablespoon measure and realized I was having WAY MORE than a tablespoon!

A tablespoon is actually smaller than I thought, so I cut back on my peanut butter, I did NOT cut it out, I just pared down the amount I was using. Next was lunch, I decided to take my sandwich and split it up. I ate 1/2 at lunch time along with my other things, including cookies. I usually ate two cookies, so now I ate just one cookie. I ate my other half of my sandwich at break time.

When I got to dinner I used a smaller plate and ate all the same foods I love, including gravy, I just “sized” it a bit smaller, besides it is hard to make too big a pile on a small plate!.

I really didn’t think I had done much, and my friends laughed at me, when I cut back my two cookies down to one, and said “what is that going to do for you?”. I shrugged and carried on with life, and then two weeks later I got on the scale and I had lost 3 pounds, I went on to lose 20 pounds with this system!

I was really excited, because I had not changed any of the foods I was eating, I just cut back a little bit on the size. By eating my other 1/2 sandwich at afternoon break, I was not as famished when I got home, and didn’t need to stuff my face before dinner.

Even if you just try a couple of these ideas, it is a easy and lazy way to lose weight slowly, but it works! All you need to do is be aware of your portion sizes, and see which things you can make just a “wee bit smaller”, and still enjoy your food!
lose the weight now and feel great about yourself!
