Display is Everything at Craft Shows

craft business | craft shows | display crafts | make money | online business | selling crafts

Display is everything at a craft show or retail window.. You could have the greatest products in the world, but if you have a very blah display …. the sales will be the same.

A great example would be jewelry.. if you are creating jewelry and love making all different forms of jewelry, then why would you just lay them on a table and hope for customers?.. This form of display, almost looks like a street corner vendor saying “have I got a deal for you!”

You need to entice your customer, you need them to want your pieces.. and remember, at craft shows you only have a few seconds to catch their eye, because it is so busy and noisy.

You have to make the investment in your business, by purchasing or making great display cases. You can find many great deals online to save money, such as black velvet busts that could show off your greatest necklace, make it sparkle and give it that “I want that piece” look to a potential customer.

You are passionate about your craft, you have worked hard all year to create these stunning pieces, don’t cheap out on the display… make your customer feel special, and with proper display units for necklaces, bracelets, rings etc, they will be able to picture the pieces on themselves. You have to get creative for the customer, you have to display pieces in such a way it gets their imagination going. This would work for any crafts you sell at craft shows… display it to show it off, or how it would be used!

Its terrible to say this, but in craft shows, you have to display as if your customer has no imagination, entice them, smile and show off your work, and package it nice after the purchase, don’t just drop a tiny ring into a huge plastic shopping bag!.. Remember, spend the extra money to make your customers feel special, they will return!
