Cheating is wrong. It doesn’t matter how you look at it. Cheating on a Soldier while they are overseas adds a whole new element to this dishonest action. I want to know exactly what a person is thinking when they cheat on someone who is risking their lives for their freedom.

I am an Army Wife who has proudly survived one deployment and will unfortunately be facing another in the near future. I got lonely and I went through bouts of depression, but I never found a reason “good enough” to cheat on my husband. He was willing to die for our country and no matter how lonely or depressed I got it could never measure up to what he was going through. So I want to know how these wives and husbands can do it. Do they not have a heart? Is sex so important to them that they don’t care who they hurt?

Now let me turn it around. What if the Soldier cheats while they are overseas? This is always a possibility and is still just as wrong. The spouses, just as the Soldier, are on a mission. Every day is a struggle to stay strong. It’s not easy having to face the fact that you may lose the love of your life. I supported my husband while he was gone and I am very proud of my faithfulness to him. Now if I would have found out that he had an affair while he was gone it would have been unforgivable. Although it was harder for him to be there, it still was in no way easy for me.

If you can’t be faithful then don’t commit. It’s as easy as that. If your spouse doesn’t make you happy then leave. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Life just doesn’t work like that. No matter how hard anyone tries, cheating can NEVER be justified.
