HD DVD in Death Throes?

More bad news for the HD DVD format for high definition DVD. The rumours are rife that its major distributor Toshiba is expected to drop HD DVD in the next few weeks.

Warner Brothers has gone Blu-ray exclusively. Best Buy is recommending its customers to choose Blu-ray. Netflix is phasing out HD DVD.

Walmart has also announced that it’s not going to carry HD DVD products in its stores.

The signs are that HD DVD will go the way of Betamax which lost out to VHS for the video-cassette format.
