There are thousands of ways to promote an Internet business. Some are them are quite expensive. Others can be accomplished quite cheaply, or even free. A great free technique to market your website or product is through article marketing. It is free and the article that you write today will continue to produce results for many months (or in some cases, years). Following are some of the secrets for article success.

Target your articles. Too many articles are written using broad generalities. To maximize your article so that it receives the highest possible number of page views, target specific techniques, methods, and information. You will gain valuable repeat readers if you give all of the details on a very narrow subject instead of just providing broad generalities.

Use a spelling and grammar checker. Although your articles don’t have to be perfect, nothing turns off a reader as much as repeated misspellings and grammatical errors. You can easily avoid this by running your article through a good spelling and grammar checker. These programs come standard with most word processors today, so there is no excuse.

Develop titles that are exciting and compelling. Your title is the advertising for your article. A boring title will generate few page views. But, the same article with a great title can be incredibly successful. A good title will draw 10 to 50 times as many page views as a boring title. Make sure you spend some time on developing a title that grabs your reader’s attention.

Keep your articles relatively short. In most cases, the ideal article should have between 350 and 600 words. Readers did not click on your article to read a novel. In today’s fast paced world, people want everything quickly. Don’t ramble and turn a great 400 word article into a 6,000 word nightmare. Be brief and to the point.
