marriage and religion

She Told Me

Ever people return to their religion when they want to marry. They want to give some solemnity to it which is an engagement for all their life.
If there is no real problems when they are from the same religion, there can be a real one for a mixed marriage when one or the two partners are of one of the monotheist religions as Muslim, Jew or Christian.
It become problems with conditions to be aggreed by the cult’s officiant, and over all problems to live together with harmony.
If it is to hard to satisfy these conditions, the partners can conclude a civil marriage to obtain a legal protection to their (futur) kinds.
On this point, you must know that mixed marriage only works successfully if both people have mutual respect for the other’s religion before and after they are married.

What is the best ? Believe or not ? I can’t answer to that, someone did in France , in XVII centurie : the Pascal’s wager.

Yes but that Pascal based his thinking on the fact that we don’t know if God exists or not, this is a false assumption. God doesn’t exist, that’s for sure, anyway not something like described in the books, so his thinking was biased, but hey that was centuries ago. Now we’ve evolved a little bit, except believers of course. Even they have evolved, not all will believe in the 7 days earth creation, and many more stuff. But still it’s true many people want a religious ceremony and many people are religious, this is obvious, it’s not getting any better on that front!

I aggree that, of course… God is not like an old man with long beard, set down on a cloud !!! (;-:))
The answer is if exist or not a thinking in the nature, wich has made all that exist in the univers…

I know you were a fervent catholic in your teens, I’m sure this has implications on your thinking, for you there’ll always be a doubt. That’s why I think it should be illegal to teach children about false stuffs called religious education. Well that’s my opinion but as you can tell, a child’s brain is very easy to shape in any way, and religious families will only generate more religious people, so that will never stop… I say it would be a good time to stop those stupid fairy tales, but I’m sure I’ll be dead long before there’s any improvement!

Religious education or Philosophic reasoning ?

What I think:
1- The answer about God is if exist or not a thinking in the nature, wich has made all that exist in the univers… “YES”
2- And about religion, if that thinking is looking or not on what we do, and if we have to justifie what we do. “NO”

I observe that religious thinking is that distinguishes men from animals. Paleonthologues use the existence or not of rituals around death for this distinction. So religions are a fact, but we must bring up from education to morality and philosophy to become a free human…
