I was handed this flyer on my way home from the market today. There is always someone handing out flyers announcing some new bar, pub or restaurant or the latest travel agency deals. Today I figured, why not try out my new PENTAX DSmobile 600 usb scanner and post this one on the blog. I scanned both sides into PDF documents very quickly, then took a snapshot of each side and converted them into .jpg files using Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10.0 [Old Version]
I’ll post more about the DSmobile 600 after I play with it some more, but for now I’ll just give the new bar a plug! Maybe I’ll start posting any interesting flyers I get.
There’s been a lot of new construction and remodeling in this area and I think what I have seen about “The Trendy Plaza” on Sukhumvit Soi 13, it has about 28,000 square metres of office space, a 9,000 square meter commercial area and around 400 condominium units, priced at 2-5 million baht each. The last time I was down Soi 13 there was still a lot of construction going on, so I haven’t seen it open for business yet.
The Trendy Plaza is where The Oasis Bar 2 is located. The 12pm to 8pm Happy Hour should be popular with building residents as well as passers-by and even those staying at the surrounding hotels. The flyer promotes a pool competition that takes place every first Saturday of the month. I don’t really frequent these places and usually just go out for a few beers when some of my friends are in town, but, from what I’ve been told, you’ve got to watch out for these girls in the pool halls because a lot of them are pretty good pool sharks! (Don’t underestimate them!).
Well, there are plenty of bars and pubs in Bangkok so if you are a pubcrawler and want to check it out, stop in and get a cold beer for 60 baht or whiskey for 80 baht during Happy Hour and shoot a game or two of pool! They even have a website up at www.oasis-soi13.com

UPDATE: Coldest Beer in Bangkok
Actually had a couple of beers there. it was a quiet place. A few pool tables and friendly staff.
A friend of mine was in town and we met up there for a few beers.Because he wanted to look at some apartments in the area. We both agreed they were they coldest we have had here!
As far as “The Trendy” We looked at some units..Didn’t like them. The layouts made the units seem smaller than they were and the finish work throughout the building looked rushed. Definitely not worth the asking prices. Had a nice gym and pool area. But still…overpriced ..not for the area, but for the quality.
