Texas has an extensive specialty license plate program which allows drivers to support their favorite group or organization by displaying specially designed license plates on their vehicles. Most of the additional fees for these specialty plates goes toward that group or organization’s activities, programs or services. Military plates, Boy and Girl Scouts, Olympics, Conservation, Organ Donor and many more to suit just about anyone’s interests. They even have one that boasts Texas..It’s like a whole other country.” Having lived in Texas for several years, I can attest to the fact that this is true!

My favorite specialty license plate is the Texas Parks and Wildlife Conservation Plate with the motto “Keep Texas Wild” and the image of a Horned Lizard, more commonly known as the “Horny Toad.”

Now, there is another plate with a Red Grapefruit and the motto “State Fruit of Texas,” but I’m not sure I would want to drive around with that on my car…I’ll stick with the Horny Toad.
