Comedian George Carlin, counter-culture icon who, according to his own words, died of “swallowing small amounts of saliva over a long period of time” on Sunday, 22 June 2008. He was 71.

George Carlin Life is Worth Losing DVD
I know two of the most coveted comedy albums when I was growing up were, Cheech and Chong’s “Big Bambu,” and George Carlin’s “Class Clown” which gave us classics such as the title track “Class Clown,” “How Much is that Dog Crap in the Window” and, of course, “The Seven Words!”
We may not have known who Lenny Bruce was, but George Carlin sure made an impact on a generation of stoned teenagers in the 70’s! Not only that, but I think he continued to grow along with us as those teens turned into adults. Many may have changed, or have been changed by the world, and their political views may have swayed from those of Mister Carlin over the years, but that never mattered because George Carlin could always get us all to laugh at ourselves and the silliness and contradictions of life!
I hope he left word to clean his “stuff” off of the dresser so that 11 years from now someone will have room for their “stuff!”
Have an excellent adventure, George!
Later, Dude!
