How to Rank High on Search Engines for Free

| | | | | | | | |

If you have an Internet business of any kind, your business relies upon traffic. Without traffic, you have no chance of succeeding in Internet business, it is that simple. As such, you have to find ways to increase your traffic if you want to experience new levels of success with your Internet business. One such way is through search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is the practice of having your websites, blogs, articles, or other Internet content appearing first in the search engine results for particular keywords. People usually click on the first result from a search engine search and thus, should your Internet content be the first thing that results, you can expect a lot of traffic coming your way.

It is important to note that appearing first in the search engine results will not guarantee positive results unless you appear first for popular keywords. Therefore, if your website appears first for a keyword or keywords that are not popular, you will not be getting much traffic. For example, the keywords, “small yellow candy” yields only 257,000 results in the Google search engine. This may sound like a lot of results, but because the internet has literally billions upon billions of pieces of content, 257,000 results means that the keywords are not popular. Therefore, should you place first in this category, it really will not matter much. If, however, you placed first in the search engine results for the keyword “money” which yields 1.04 billion results, you can expect that you will get a substantial influx of traffic.

In order to appear first in the search engine rankings you have to get people to link to your content. Reciprocal links work okay, but the problem is that you have to go through the hassle of linking to their content, and you have to constantly monitor the person to make sure that they keep your link up. One way links, on the other hand, due not require that you link back to another website nor do they require constant monitoring. The best way to get one way links is to submit your content (whether such content is an article, a picture, a video, or whatever else) to other websites that will publish your content. There are a lot of them out there and thus, you could build a substantial amount of links.

Remember, search engines operate off of keywords. Therefore, if your content is not “keyword rich” for the keyword that you are targeting, your content will not show up high, if at all, for searches conducted on that particular keyword. As such, if you are targeting the keywords “credit card debt,” you have to include those words many times in your content so that the search engines can key to that information.

Obtain links and submit keyword rich content should you want to climb the list for search engine results.
