Though it cannot be done on this site, Google adsense allows users to create their own Ad html and post it on tehir website. In other words, you create ad code that includes your custom colors, sizes, and advertisement types.
I tried it out once for my own site ( http://www.blooklot.com ) and used my own custom colors. Deciding on a blue-orange scheme that went well with the main colors of the web page, I put the HTML on the site- and, while I haven’t gotten much in revenues lately, I feel that the unique color scheme does work to attract the eyes of users.
This raises the question- if any color scheme would catch your eye, what would it be? A purple-yellow combination that looks as if it came just from the 70’s, or a more mellow set of colors that would cause you to think the ads were part of the site? Post the set of colors (you can choose up to thre) that would attract your attention.

I know it sounds totally stupid (because I use brown links here) but I believe a standard blue link for all links and adsense links should perform best when you have a not too savvy audience..
That said, if the design is very clear (unlike here) then a 728x90 leaderboard with a red link and 4 images above should do good.
Listen to a tested winning setup for a front page:
three 728x90 leaderboard one on the other, and one 728x15 link unit at the end of this block, with a standard blue link and black text and url.
