If you have been paying any attention to the headlines in the news lately, you may have noticed the insane amount of distractors being put out there lately. These distractors are stupid crap news stories put out there solely to distract the American Public and the people of the world from the real news, and more importantly to keep the real shit off our minds.

“Exciting” news stories like these keep our minds off our worries about how the hell we’re going to fill up our gas tank and get to work if gas prices continue to soar, how we’re going to pay the electric bill when energy prices are soaring, and more importantly it keeps us from realizing that our country is STILL being stolen from us by corporations and crooked politicians.

I have a secret…I have been holding out on all of you. Actually, I haven’t. It just never actually struck me that I should mention here that I am the webmaster for a new podcast. It is called 9/11 Synchronicity (www.911synchronicity.com), and is hosted by Richard Andrew Grove. Many of you may be familiar with Richard’s work. If not, take a look st 8thestate.com to get some background.

Richard is now up to Episode 5, which was released on Saturday the 19th of August. In past episodes, Richard has interviewed a range of guests, including Dylan and friends from Louder Than Words (“the Loose Change guys”), and Ty Rauber (producer of “Who Killed John O’Neill?”). Richard also features music that you have probably never heard (but ought to), as well as excellent insight into a number of different topics.

So last night I saw Talladega Nights. It was pretty amusing, albeit the fact that product placement whoring was insane.

Anyway, toward the end of the movie, executives from Halliburton and DynCorp show up at a race as prospective investors. Interestingly, the names of the actors (or non-actors) who played the executives is as yet nonexistant on any cast list including IMDB.

If anyone can remember the names of either of these men I would greatly appreciate your assistance in refreshing my memory. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Just a quick post this fine Sunday afternoon. I was looking over the Long Beach Press Telegram’s website, and found a few more delightful pictures of what our future looks like. This is real, and we’re letting it happen by being complacent. We can change this, but we need to do something now.

So remember yesterday, when I warned you that something needs to be done NOW to combat the rising fascism and robbery of our civil liberties in the United States? Remember how I presented pictures from Yahoo! showing police with semi-automatic weapons and dogs at airports? If you don’t give this post a gander.

Anyway, here are a few more pics for you. The governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, has called in the National Guard to help the TSA intimidate people… I mean, watch for terrorists. That’s great, since the National Guard isn’t spread thin enough be being deployed to Iraq by the Commander Thief… er, Chief Thief… DAMN, I mean Asshole in Chief… I’m never going to get it right, so let’s look at some pictures:

Today, and actually before now, one of my cable boxes turns off erratically. Approximately every ten minutes it turns off, stays off for about 5 minutes, then resets and works again. I called customer “service” today about it, and they claim that there is an outage in my area right now. As you can see, my cable modem is working fine, and when my cable box is on, my TV also works fine. Every time I have called Charter in the past month (way too many times if you ask me), I have been told that I cannot schedule an appointment.

The first time, my high speed Internet was intermittent. The problem with that is that I do a lot of online work from home, and also have digital phone service. Pretty much when my Internet is down, I’m stuck. I was told that time that the calendaring system was down, and to call back the next day when it should be working again.

On Wednesday, June 21, I attended a free screening of Loose Change Second Edition at the Art Theatre in Long Beach, CA. I was previously familiar with the film, and have watched it online a number of times, but was excited for the opportunity to see the movie on the big screen, and to participate in a Q&A session with the filmmakers afterward.

I’ll give away the end, and state that I was highly satisfied with the experience overall. My wife and I arrived early to a group of about twelve people hanging out outside the theatre, waiting for the screening of “A Prairie Home Companion” to let out. I had printed up some flyers to promote 8thestate.com, and took advantage of the opportunity to walk around and chat with like-minded people about other aspects of 9/11. I am very glad to report that everyone was very friendly, and willing to talk. Some had even visited 8th Estate, and were quite interested in hearing about Richard Grove.

By now all of my loyal readers (all two of you…thanks) have noticed the signature that I have been using on my comments for the past few weeks:

Maybe some of you are curious as to who Mr. Richard Andrew Grove is. Maybe some of you have taken the initiative to Google him and find out. And maybe some of you have even stumbled upon and listened to his groundbreaking Project Constellation transmission on Meria Heller’s show from June 4th, 2006.

Yesterday, June 6, 2006, the Muckraker Report announced that the FBI has admitted having “no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11.” Of course, this is nothing new to many people, but I don’t think it has actually been admitted to by the FBI officially before.

It turns out that on the FBI’s “Most Wanted Terrosists” web page, they state:

“Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world.”

I am proud to announce the public launch of OfficialDis.info, my new website dedicated to the sharing and discussion of progressive political news and Internet links. This has been a work in progress for quite a while, but I am finally ready to unleash it to the public. I figure, what better day that 06/06/06, right?

Basically my goal is for OfficialDis.info to be a politically-oriented version of Digg.com. Besides that, I have included links to other progressive political sites and information. OfficialDis.info is based upon Drupal, the open source CMS that WritingUp, Bloggerparty, and other such web sites are based upon, so if you’re comfortable with WrtingUp, you’ll feel right at home.
