HR is again in the spotlight. It’s a wonder why HR is so popular? Why some people in the Company are in some kind of campaign to put HR people down? What’s in HR?

Its a funny story of a gift that came back to a guy who gave it as a present to the girl he’s in love with.

There is this guy at our office whose kind of shy and timid. He’s in love with a girl assigned at the reception but afraid to tell her of his feelings. So what he did was he bought a present for this girl. It was a unisex type of wallet. On a 1/8 size sheet of paper he wrote “You have the sweetest smile I have ever seen. I’m in love with you. Would you go out with me?” He signed it put it in the wallet card compartment then gave it to the girl and waited for her response. Unfortunately, he did not see any reaction from the reception girl. He was a little sad, but never lose hope.

Calling off the wedding because she found out that her groom’s ex-girlfriend is pregnant and then realizing that she herself is pregnant as well she was suddenly unsure if she had made the right decision. In two months time she will be giving birth to a baby boy. She refused to return his phone calls. She still feel betrayed for keeping from her about the girl he got pregnant. But she knows she need to talk to him sooner or later. she need to tell him about their coming baby. When she found out that she is pregnant she left.

I’d like to share a story that had happened here in my country. A story of how poverty can cause a life…

This is a story of Elda, a mother who died after giving birth to her youngest child. She left behind 3 little children and a confuse husband who’s at lost on how he would manage with life without his loving wife.
Elda lived with her family in a small fishing village six hours drive away from Virac, the capital city, of the island of Catanduanes. Both came from a poor family but Elda and her husband, Nante, lived happily with their two kids. In early January of 2006, she joyfully told her husband that she was pregnant with their 3rd child. Nante anticipating the arrival of a new member of their family doubled his effort worked harder in preparation for the delivery of Elda. She didn’t experience difficulties during the pregnancy except she noticed that her stomach is bigger than the two previous pregnancies.

My job as a Human Resource person is to be a loyal servant both for the Management and the workers. Neutrally, an HR must show 100% loyalty to both. Ironically, if problem occurs everything is blamed to HR. All blames but never been appreciated for all the good service provided for the Company and the workers. Nevertheless, I love what I’m doing. The only thing that I hate about my job is being the messenger of bad news for the employer.

Yesterday, the Managing Director who also happened to be the son of the owner of the Company where I work decided to terminate his Secretary. He said lately she constantly commit mistakes with her work and neglecting her duties and responsibilities. Since he is handling the highest position in the Company his order is a law. Nobody dared to oppose him else suffer his wrath. So my Manager obeyed the order and instructed me to prepare the Notice of Separation. Problem is we do not have enough grounds to terminate his Secretary. How can you terminate an employee just because the boss does not like her anymore? The Company has a Code of Conduct wherein every offense done must be referred to if indeed an employee committed violation. With the Secretary’s case though there is no offense done except that she pisses off the MD.

Three months ago google to me is just a website i used for searching in the internet. I’ve read in a forwarded email that Google is the number 1 logo in the USA. It didn’t made any impact to me. I mean so what if it’s a number 1 logo. But because somebody told me it’s the best searching site i placed it in my favorites.

Until somebody invited me to join a blogsite. To be able to earn in that site i’ve got to registered with googles adsense. That’s when i found out that Googles is more than just a searh engine.

Now I am trying to learn everything about google. Get familiar on all it’s features.

I read in a magazine that depression is not an ordinary thing. It says that it’s normal to feel down occasionaly but if one wake up feeling sad every day for two weeks or longer, you could be depressed. Depression can be triggered by a lot of things. For young people it could be stuff like the stress of starting college or breaking up with someone. For older people it could be the stress at work or family problem. In general it could be the result of a chemical imbalance in the brain. Whatever it is depression should be taken seriously. It could lead to illness such as heart ailment or worst it could lead to suicide. I have copied the few statements on assessing if what a person experiencing is normal sadness or depression. Read the following statements and see if you are experiencing any of these:

Everything have all been prepared. The wedding was just a week away and she had to make sure that they had not forgotten anything. There was excitement in the air. Everybody was excited waiting for this once in a lifetime event of their one and only daughter.

The phone rings. She picked it up smiling thinking it was her groom. At the other side of the phone a woman voice was saying please call the wedding off. Confused she asked the woman who she was and why was she trying to stop her wedding. The woman replied because in 3 months i’m gonna be giving birth to a baby whose father is the man you are marrying. She couldn’t believe what was happening. Why on earth is she having his child? She didn’t realized she was shaking. The phone got out of her hand her eyes were full of tears. She heard her mother calling her then everything became black. When she woke up she’s in bed her mother was asking what happened. Who was she talking to at the phone? She looked at her mother how could she tell her about that phone call? It could cause her a heart attack. She need to talk to her boyfriend.

I have this friend in the internet whom i have yet to meet in person because he is thousand miles away. He’s in the other side of the world. Over the years we have been exchanging emails. Sometimes we also send letters the conventional way. The distance never became a hindrance to that friendship. We share ideas and stories about so many things, our families, friends about everything. We wanted to meet personally but circumstances made it impossible.I cannot travel to go to him because i do not have a visa to enter his country. Well, even if i havc a visa i also do not have the funds to finance for the air fare.
