The Olympics: A Big, Steaming Pile of Fail since 1924

This morning I was checking out blogs via Entrecard, looking to see who had dropped their cards on my widget in the last 24 hours. One of the blogs, Black Woman Thinks, has a post up about the Olympics that mirrors my feelings on the whole production: boring.

I left a comment about how I would maybe watch if rugby were included in the games. I played a bit in high school and when I was in the Army, and one of these days when I have medical insurance I’ll probably find a private club and take the sport up again.

I got curious about the matter and decided to search for “rugby olympics,” which turned up a wiki on the subject.

Turns out that rugby once was part of the Olympics, but that ended after the 1924 games.

So, yeah. The Olympics have officially sucked for 84 years. And counting.
