Introduction to Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development District (GETDD) is one of the first state-level development zones. Up to now, the contractual and actual utilization of foreign capital in the zone has reached over US$8 billion and US$ 5 billion respectively. The 4 state-level economic zones - Guangzhou Economic & Technological Development District (GETDD), Guangzhou Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (GHIDZ), Guangzhou Export Processing Zone (GEPZ) and Guangzhou Bonded Zone can provide different preferential policies and services for different investors.
GETDD relies on Guangzhou - a famous historical and cultural city with 2500 years of history. It is the center of economy, culture, transportation, information and finance in south China and an international “Garden City” and a model residential city. GDZ is a hub of the Pearl River Delta—the richest and most dynamic area and the most important manufacturing base in China.
GETDD is the transportation hub in south China and it is very convenient to go anywhere. There are expressways, city expressways, highways, light railways, ports and wharfs in the zone. It is near the hub airport in Asia - Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport. A subway will go through Guangzhou Science Town in 2005.
